You still can't play them with an iCade cabinet just yet -- though that's coming, in June -- but Atari has now delivered quite a present to iPhone, iPad and iPod touch owners. The company has just released its Greatest Hits collection for iOS devices, which includes 18 classic arcade games and 82 Atari 2600 games -- those available either in 25 separate packs for $0.99 apiece, or in one massive time sink bundle for $14.99 (Pong comes free with the app itself). Oscium's iMSO-104 turns iPad, iPhone into mixed signal oscilloscopes

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2441 days, 18 hours, 19 minutes ago
Friday, April 08, 2011 8:19:43 AM GMT
We've seen oscilloscopes repurposed as clocks and MAME machines, but we hardly ever see the pendulum swing in the opposite direction. The iMSO-104, however, actually turns your iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch into an oscilloscope display. Using a Cypress Semiconductor system on a chip, the iMSO-104 touts a 5MHz bandwidth and as much as 12 megasamples per second, and connects to your device by way of the dock connector -- according to its maker, it's also the world's smallest and most portable oscilloscope. iPad 2 specs discerned, 900MHz dual-core ARM CPU and PowerVR SGX543MP2 GPU blow away graphical benchmarks

posted by adminadmin 2466 days, 21 hours, 38 minutes ago
Monday, March 14, 2011 5:00:50 AM GMT
iFixit may have physically uncovered Apple's latest silicon, but it's the processor gurus that have discovered what's truly inside -- using software benchmarks, they've unearthed the speeds and feeds of the Apple A5. As you'll no doubt be aware having read our headline above, there actually isn't a 1GHz CPU at the helm, as AnandTech and IOSnoops report the dual-core ARM chip is dynamically clocked around 900MHz, likely in search of reduced power consumption. iFixit has an iPad 2, and they're ripping it apart (video)

posted by adminadmin 2468 days, 15 hours, 44 minutes ago

It only took a few short hours for iFixit to get its hands on an iPad 2 (the WiFi variety), and of course, they immediately started to tear it apart. It's a necessarily delicate task, but they're making progress as we speak, and here are the first things that jump out to us: there is much less open space inside the iPad 2 than the original model, and the battery is very large. Mojang crafting official iPhone/iPad Minecraft release

posted by adminadmin 2486 days, 18 hours, 18 minutes ago

The unsanctioned iPhone version of Minecraft might have been taken down like a shoddy lean-to during a zombie invasion, but it'll be replaced this year by something way better: an official version developed by Mojang. Minecraft creator Markus Persson told Gamasutra that a new Mojang employee, Aron Neiminen, is working on the port with a release targeted for 2011. (more)

To help boost anticipation for its upcoming multiplayer arcade title Pac-Man Battle Royale for the billions of people who haven't played it at various gaming industry events, Namco America has dropped a brief demo for the game on the iPad App Store. The free trial lets two to four players play simultaneously, gobbling up pellets, ghosts and each other -- unfortunately, the thing only lasts for a single stage. We know! How unsatisfying. (more)

Breaking: Apple Files Touchscreen Mouse Patent

There are plenty of reasons not to like Apple, but even the most emotional Apple-haters among us have to admit that some of the best ideas for future computing devices come out of Apple's labs. The USPTO just published a July 14, 2009 patent filing by Apple, which describes a complex mouse that could hint to a departure from the traditional one-button Apple mouse. (more)

Three iPad dummy SKUs appear at Best Buy website

Monday, January 17, 2011 7:58:16 AM GMT
There's not much to see here, folks, just a few listings on Best Buy's website for Apple iPads that don't currently exist. They could be the result of a database error, an employee prank, or even just wishful thinking. Still, between well-placed sources informing us that a super-high-resolution, SD-card bearing, dual-mode iPad 2 is on the way and a feeling of déjà vu, we can't help but think there might be a rather exciting prize behind doors number one, two and three. Or perhaps just a Verizon iPad. We'... (more)

Google’s Android platform has just become the most popular smartphone platform in the U.S. and is apparently outgrowing the iPhone by a ridiculous margin. Now we hear that Android is likely to prevail in the battle against the iPhone. Is Google Apple’s second Microsoft ? Will Apple, once again, drop below 5% market share in its core business? (more)
