DrinkBox Studios' roly poly platformer Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack was widely recognized as the PS Vita's best early release, and now it's going to get access to an even bigger audience. The Steam summer sale -- otherwise known as the Great Wallet Genocide -- has been destroying more than our financial security. It also brought Ubisoft's servers to its knees, causing its Uplay system to break and render a number of games unplayable. (more)

Valve to eventually allow 'unapproved' updates on Steam

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1976 days, 5 hours, 14 minutes ago
Saturday, July 14, 2012 8:16:33 AM GMT
Valve's push toward giving consumers a more direct say in the matter of which games appear on Steam with its upcoming Greenlight initiative is certainly intriguing. Will it work? If anyone is adaptable enough to make it happen, it's likely Valve. And, either way, I like that this option is being explored. (more)

When Valve and Adult Swim announced a partnership involving the Team Fortress 2 universe, we winked at each other, throwing out the tired joke that it would probably just be a bunch of hats. Today, we're not sure if we should be laughing or weeping silently into our keyboards: Adult Swim has revealed a free, limited-edition Robot Chicken hat for any class in TF2, as the first iteration in a series of new stuff coming from Valve and Adult Swim. Review: Revelations 2012

Revelations 2012 first came to my attention when a random Twitter pal recommended it, presumably under the impression that I would find something to love in the same way I regularly watch Alien Resurrection and enjoy every shameful second. The trouble is, Alien Resurrection is so bad it's good, and even offers a number of genuinely entertaining moments. (more)

The idea is to get out of the "proprietary traps" that are currently leading both sectors (thanks to Apple, Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo) by offering an alternative to existing proprietary console technologies.
