Here's the reason why Battlefield 3 is not on Steam

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2235 days, 14 hours, 29 minutes ago
Sunday, August 07, 2011 8:44:59 PM GMT
So a few weeks ago, news broke that EA wouldn't be selling Battlefield 3 on Steam, much to the chagrin of many PC gamers. At the time, there was no explanation given, however we've now got some info as to why EA won't be putting the upcoming FPS title on Valve's service -- and it seems to be related to Steam's patching and downloadable content policies again. Renegade Ops' co-op modes demonstrated

Wednesday, July 27, 2011 9:07:16 AM GMT
The latest Renegade Ops trailer introduces the two- and four-player co-op modes in the top-down vehicular shooter. In local co-op, the screen splits dynamically, with the divider rotating as needed; online co-op just puts more cars on your screen. Pretty intuitive, really. (more)

Next for Team Fortress 2: Free-to-play status

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2280 days, 3 hours, 51 minutes ago
Friday, June 24, 2011 7:23:11 AM GMT
For the Über Update festivities, Valve set up Team Fortress 2 with week-long free status. I thought this was a smart idea, but not entirely unexpected, since Valve has a history of pulling such stunts. Making the full game free, forever? Yeah, that's a bit more ballsy -- and it's apparently what the company is doing. (more)

Though it's possible you've been offered the opportunity to dress like a space wolf at some other point today, we were quite excited to be extended such a chance by the newly announced pre-order bonuses for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine. Folks pre-ordering the forthcoming third-person space shooter at GameStop will get the hilariously named armor, as well as the "black templar chapter armor." A variety of other bonuses are available from several other retailers, detailed below the break. (more)

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2309 days, 4 hours, 30 minutes ago

Valve has announced that if you pre-order the upcoming Call of Juarez: The Cartel on Steam, you'll get a copy of 2009's Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood for free. Just like a few other previous Steam pre-order deals (Portal 2's granted a copy of the first game ), you'll be able to give the game away to someone else if you already happen to have a copy of Bound in Blood of your own.
