posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2249 days, 4 hours ago
Thursday, May 26, 2011 6:39:42 AM GMT
On Friday, Sony BMG Greece was hacked and the details of more than 8,000 users stolen. This week, Sony Music Japan and Sony Ericsson were the targets. In the attack against Sony’s Greek website, hackers supposedly used an automated SQL injection tool to find a flaw and obtain user information. Though that event took play on May 5, it seems Sony Music Japan has fallen victim to a similar attack. (more)

One of the most hilariously controversial debates surround The Legend of Zelda is the question of whether or not there's an official timeline. More fuel's been thrown on the fire with Nintendo's Dan Owsen revealing that Nintnedo has a timeline, hidden away under lock and key. (more)

I was so excited about PS3 title Tokyo Jungle when I played it at last year's Tokyo Game Show. Since then we've heard next to nothing about the strange and hilarious animal survival title. I've cried a few times. The latest Famitsu update finally gives us some new info on Tokyo Jungle's two modes: story and survival. (more)

In addition to the box art and a few super tiny direct-feed screens (found at the link below), we now know that players will have the option of using the Wii Remote-Nunchuk setup or the Classic Controller. Your main weapon, the Orichalcum Chain, will have various uses aside from harvesting flesh from slain beasts. They include restraining enemies so that you may attack with another weapon, latching onto walls, swinging from hooks, and manipulating switches. (more)

New Super Mario Bros. Wii arcade medal game primed for Japan

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2301 days, 3 hours, 7 minutes ago
Monday, April 04, 2011 7:32:29 AM GMT
Before cursing the heavens, realize that the Capcom-developed New Super Mario Bros. Wii arcade machine isn't what you think it is. The Mario Bros. cabinet is actually a "medal game" -- in other words, it's a series of Mario-related mini-games (slot machines and the like) that can earn players more medals (i.e. tokens). According to Siliconera, players that reach Bowser in the up-to-four-player game have a shot at winning a jackpot. (more)

The three hats recently added to Team Fortress 2, available for a charitable donation of $7.99, $19.99 or $99.99, have pulled in over $300,000 in just one week for disaster relief in Japan. (more)

It is my pleasure to bring you an exclusive Destructoid survey conducted in partnership with a major Japanese company. We are looking to conduct a relatively informal survey and open conversation on the topic of Japanese titles (especially those that have never made it to North America). At the heart of it, they're curious if a product remaining somewhat pure to its Japanese roots might be better received by serious J-gamers in the States. Your answers will be DIRECTLY influencing a significant decision ... (more)

It's amazing what a sexy blonde with spread legs can make you do. For over 163,000 Japanese gamers this past week it made them each drop around 6,500 yen for a copy of Atlus' first HD game, Catherine. It was the top selling game this week, with the PS3 version taking the top honors with 141,826 copies sold. The Xbox 360 version chipped in as best as it could with almost 22,000 copies sold. Catherine absolutely demolished the competition this past week, with only Marvel vs. Capcom 3 coming in a distant se... (more)
