TiVo Android and iPhone apps in the works, Season Passes soon at your fingertips

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2222 days, 18 hours, 6 minutes ago
Monday, June 20, 2011 8:39:42 AM GMT
Sure, it's technically been possible to manage one's TiVo via the mobile web for a half-decade now, but earlier methods were neither intuitive nor enthralling. Earlier this year, the company released its iPad app -- a diddy that showcases functions like remote control features, ToDo List prioritizing and Season Pass management. After hinting at a number of apps for smaller-screen devices (boasting all manners of operating systems), the latest print edition of CEPro has delivered solid intel that the afor... (more)

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2237 days, 19 hours, 31 minutes ago
Sunday, June 05, 2011 7:14:46 AM GMT
The big week is almost upon us, folks: E3 2011. And if this week is any indication of days to come, we'll have a constant flow of news mainlined directly from Los Angeles to your think meat. With that in mind, there are a handful of focal points throughout the week that will assuredly strike you as high priority, and as such, we thought a roadmap guiding you to those particular moments -- whether you're in Shibuya, or Queens, or anywhere else for that matter -- would be of particular use. Look, we're really not that into the whole phone thing, but one thing about this YouTube video of the alleged update has caught our eye: Avatar interaction. Sure, we've seen Avatar accosting before on our phone, but the 'Mango' update looks to implement even more ways for your Avatar to act out -- specifically, the emotions of anger, stop poking me and leave me the hell alone. Tecmo Bowl Throwback, last year's retro-revival for PSN and XBLA, has been ported to iOS and was released today. iTunes lists the features of the $7.99 port as largely similar to the console game: 30 teams in all, two of which are All-Star squads with customizable rosters, plus Preseason, Season and All-Star game modes. The first two are standard football fare; All-Star mode allows players to pit the game's two All-Star teams against each other. (more)

Thankfully, Square Enix hasn't lost touch with that younger generation of yesteryear, having released a 3D remake of Final Fantasy III on DS, the iPhone and iPod Touch, and -- as of today -- the iPad. Mark Rein: Unreal Development Kit 'eventually' coming to Android

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2295 days, 18 hours, 19 minutes ago
Friday, April 08, 2011 8:27:00 AM GMT
Budding Android developers looking to utilize Epic's free Unreal Development Kit know it's still in the works for the platform. Of course, that's not to say the Unreal Engine itself isn't being used on Android -- Dungeon Defenders is perhaps the most visible Unreal Engine 3-powered game on the mobile OS, though a recent deal between Epic and Gameloft ensures that won't be the case for long. Companies can currently license UE3 code to develop Android games, though Epic VP Mark Rein told Gamasutra that "UD... (more)

An ambiguous tweet from Angry Birds dev Rovio announced the news, stating, "10 in 10 ... Angry Birds Rio breaking all records. A massive thanks to all our fans!!!" Mobile-Ent.biz clarified the tweet's meaning moments later, asking if the "10 in 10" was referring to 10 million downloads in the first 10 days. (more)
