Namco helps graffiti-up East London with SoulCalibur V

Game publishers have done the craziest things in order to get their upcoming games some attention. So when Namco Bandai goes out to promote upcoming fighting game SoulCalibur V, I'd expect something along the lines of staging a fight with people dressed up as characters from the game in the middle of a busy street. King Arthur II: The once and future king returns today

I got rather caught up in the Arthurian legend when I was a mite, enough so that when I played King Arthur - The Roleplaying Wargame I was rather charmed by it. The real time battles were fun, the choose your own adventure style quests were a delight to play and the morality and magic systems were an interesting addition. So I'm rather looking forward to King Arthur II, which launched for PC today. (more)

Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker releasing in Spring 2012

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2091 days, 11 hours, 6 minutes ago

It's been a while since we last heard of Dragon Age: Dawn of the Seeker, the anime spin-off of Bioware's fantasy RPG. Dragonagemovie.com has been updated, and we now know that Bioware and EA's collaboration with FUNimation is coming in Spring 2012. Fumihiko Sori (Vexille) is directing the project, and studio Oxybot is taking care of animation duties. And my, what horrible animation it is. It looks quite poor, with objects having no weight at all. (more)

Capy posts ideas from its internal game jam, and they all sound pretty good

Given the talent of the folks at Capy Software (who've made the excellent Critter Crunch, Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes, and most of the programming behind Sword and Sworcery), you'd expect them to prototype an interesting game in less time than it takes some to develop a full game. You're partially right -- they made seven. (more)

Apple Sued Over Accelerometer and Bubble Level

Calibrait, LLC, a company with no history and apparently has been founded with the sole purpose to acquire a patent and sue for patent infringement, claims that Apple directly and indirectly infringe its patent 7,447,265 by offering accelerometers in its mobile devices as well as software that turn iPods, iPads and iPhones into electronic alignment devices. Calibrait also alleges that Apple engages in indirect infringement by enabling others to violate Calibrait's patent. (more)

Verizon Shared Data Plans Coming Soon?

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2091 days, 11 hours, 18 minutes ago

Back in December 2011, Verizon Communications CEO Lowell McAdam said that 2012 will likely bring a shared data plan to Verizon Wireless so that customers with multiple lines won't have to juggle multiple data packages. Like shared minutes, a shared data plan would provide a bulk amount of data per month for one set fee for family members to share. (more)

The Binding of Isaac gets a grotesque retail edition

It was only a few days ago that online retailer, Merge Games, announced they would be selling a retail version of Terraria, a collectors edition no less. Now another of my favorite indie games from last year is getting a retail special edition, The Binding of Isaac. Wee Isaac's battle to escape his mother's basement will be available from Merge Games on March 16th, but only in the UK. This version of the game comes with a Steam gift key, a DRM-free copy of the game, the awesome soundtrack, a grim poster ... (more)

Personally, I like the English voice work here, but I think I'll still prefer the Japanese version in the end. Not knowing what some of these songs are about might make them a little better. (more)
