It may not seem like that long ago, but way back in July of last year a little zombie-survival game by the name of Dead Block came out on XBLA and PSN. Now, about half a year later, the Call of Duty Zombie mode-esque downloadable title has found a new home on PC. (more)

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1881 days, 14 hours, 46 minutes ago
Sunday, January 29, 2012 9:07:39 AM GMT
Seriously, we can't caveat this one enough -- there is no way of knowing if this is in fact the Galaxy S III or, if it is, when it might come to market -- but, it looks like Samsung's "next big smartphone" just made a cameo on the company's support pages. Listed as the GT-i9300, the mystery device reared its head over at the Global Download Center of the United Arab Emerites site. If Sammy is to keep with its naming scheme i93XX would be a flagship device (more)

The fresh trend of Micro Four Thirds shooters is on the rise, thus it shouldn't come as a surprise that more glass-makers are jumping on the MFT bandwagon. Joining the likes of Panasonic, Olympus and Kodak as part of the Micro Four Thirds Group, is a trifecta of third-party lens manufacturers: Tamron, Kenko Tokina and ASTRODESIGN. (more)

Final Fantasy XIII-2 review: Fixing the past

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1881 days, 14 hours, 51 minutes ago
Sunday, January 29, 2012 9:02:37 AM GMT
There was once a time when "Final Fantasy" meant greatness, when seeing Square's brand on a game box meant you were about to play something special. That time has long since passed. In today's gaming landscape, Final Fantasy is more punchline than powerhouse, more quantity than quality. After the mediocre Final Fantasy XIII and the sheer disaster that was Final Fantasy XIV, many fans have lost faith in the RPG titan. (more)

Preview: 5 things to know about Tony Hawk's Pro Skater HD

Saturday, January 28, 2012 11:28:57 AM GMT
The original Tony Hawk's Pro Skater holds a special place in my gaming heart, as it does in Conrad's. I was fresh out of high school without a lot of money, and the addictive nature of trying to complete the perfect run eliminated the need for any other game. It was the perfect fix for when I was happy, sad, or just plain bored, and it only got better with the second installment -- especially the Dreamcast version. (more)

Preview: Collisions are a glorious thing in DiRT Showdown

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1882 days, 12 hours, 26 minutes ago

Codemaster's DiRT series has always been known for offering gamers a rally racing series with a great physics engine and smart A.I. opponents that push back as aggressively as the player pushes them. Perhaps the greatest single aspect that has separated the series from other games of its ilk would be the damage modeling that accounts for some of the most exciting and visceral crashes experienced in racing games. War of the Roses is like Battlefield, but with swords

Imagine for a second Battlefield, but strip away the guns and modern day machines and replace it all with swords, crossbows and horses. That's what Paradox is creating with War of the Roses, set to be the biggest game ever made by the company. It's Paradox's dream game, and developer Fat Shark looks to be making something really special here. Plus it helps that Gordan Van Dyke, a former DICE man who has over five years of experience with the Battlefield series, is part of the team. (more)

It looks like being a young gamer in South Korea is getting tougher and tougher. Last year the country put into effect a "Cinderella Law" that prohibited online gamers 18 and younger from logging in to popular games between the hours of midnight and 6:00 a.m.. Now the government is taking a close look at an additional law limiting the amount of time played each day for minors. (more)
