Resident Evil: Retribution 3D trailer is like a Sony ad

I clicked play on this Resident Evil: Retribution 3D trailer when I saw it at Flixist and wondered if I was watching a pre-trailer commercial. Nope. The faux ad for Sony products turns into a real trailer for the next RE movie. Nice PS Vita placement, Sony. Russian girl? (more)

Take a look at the classes of Ghost Recon Online

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1888 days, 13 hours, 32 minutes ago
Sunday, January 22, 2012 10:21:47 AM GMT
I'll be honest with you all on something; I completely forgot about Ghost Recon Online. The free-to-play third-person shooter, which is being developed by Ubisoft's Singapore studio, is currently allowing anyone to apply for the game's beta and give it a spin. The game, given that it's free to play, will have a micro-transaction system very similar to that of Battlefield Heroes where players can rent more powerful weapons and equipment for a certain time period. If you are a 3DS owner and you are reading this, I assume that you have access to the internet, are interested in beautiful videogames Therefore, that you have downloaded the demo to Resident Evil: Revelations, right? If that is the case, you probably don't need convincing that Resident Evil: Revelations looks better than 99% of the games that Capcom has released on Nintendo consoles in the publisher's long and vibrant history. Halo 4 beta invites are all fake (so far)

Abe Vigoda's not dead, that bridge in Brooklyn isn't really for sale, and there isn't actually an Easter bunny or a tooth fairy. Oh, and that invite to the Halo 4 beta you just got? It's not real either, says 343 Industries' content editor David Ellis. That doesn't mean there won't be a beta, but there isn't one yet. (more)

Minecraft on XBLA working toward constant updates

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1888 days, 13 hours, 40 minutes ago

Xbox Live Arcade is an excellent platform that's delivered some of our favorite games over the years, but the approval process for XBLA titles (and their subsequent updates) isn't quite as expedient as other platforms. For ever-changing games like Minecraft, where updates are as vital as they are frequent, this can create potentially destructive brand fragmentation where two distinctly difference experiences exist on two different platforms. Zynga's paid $300 per new user in the past nine months, says analyst

Zynga has been struggling with its stock price since the IPO late last year, and Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia says there are more dark days ahead. When you compare Zynga's $120 million marketing budget to its recent rise in only 400,000 new players (about $300 a person), the numbers don't look good: "We know that, on average, these people are spending about $150 or so," says Bhatia, which suggests that Zynga is spending about $300 for every $150 in profit. Sensixa e-AR duplicates the inner ear, knows if you've fallen and can't get up

No, it's not a Philippe Starck-designed hearing aid, although we kind of wish it were. What you're actually looking at is an over-the-ear sensor, dubbed the e-AR, made to mimic the human vestibular system. In layman's terms, this 3D accelerometer-equipped device, crafted by Sensixa, is capable of recording real-time information related to posture and orientation, much like the inner ear does, which is then relayed via an embedded low power radio to a remote receiver. The tech, which we spied passing thro... (more)

As terrifying as immunization shots and vaccinations may be, years of studies and research have clearly shown the important role they play in prolonging our lives. Regardless of how macho some of us are, doctors armed with gigantic skin piercing needles can still be a bit intimidating, especially for the kids. Luckily for our ears and sanity, researchers at Tufts University School of Engineering have come up with an innovative solution. (more)

Nothing says “I’m a survivalist” like a pocketknife. But we’re hard pressed to think of a disaster scenario where you might need a two blades, scissors, a screw driver, a file AND 1 terabyte of SSD data storage (capacities of 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB are also available). Nonetheless, that’s what the venerable Victorinox (Swiss Army) brand is offering, among other things, at CES this year. The memory stick itself connects to both USB 3.0 and eSATA ports, and features a 96x48-pixel display that can help you ... (more)
