Cloudberry Kingdom isn't just a crazy-looking platformer. It's also a Kickstarter-supported infinite platformer level generator, that allows you to make your own levels or specify a level of difficulty for an automatically generated stage. You can also design your own heroes, setting both appearance and physics. (more)

This week is dedicated to La-Mulana (1000 Wii Points), the remake I thought would never see the light of day on WiiWare. If you haven't experienced this game before and enjoy a challenge, you should definitely think about picking it up right away. (more)

This is what the 3DS XL Circle Pad Pro looks like

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1643 days, 21 hours, 44 minutes ago
Friday, September 21, 2012 8:31:01 AM GMT
While we don't have a price or date for the 3DS XL Circle Pad Pro, Nintendo has posted an image of the add-on (the one on the left). It certainly looks like the Circle Pad Pro, albeit slightly less aesthetically unpleasing. And even though this shouldn't be taken as positive, at least with the XL, the system is already substantial in size, so adding even more to it doesn't seem quite so ... wrong. (more)

If you're like me, you spend an almost excessive amount of time starring at a screen, be it computer or television. Gaming for long periods of time can strain your eyes, and I find as I get older, I'm more prone to headaches as I stare at a computer screen at work only to come home and unwind by...starring at a videogame on my TV. Review: FTL: Faster Than Light

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1643 days, 21 hours, 51 minutes ago

The HMS Tribble was on fire. Every single room from the engine room to my recently purchased drone control room was being consumed one tiny square at a time. The valiant Captain Jack Jack was frantically attempting to regain control of the helm, while the other two surviving crew members -- the brave Weapons Officer Beth Buttons and the ingenious Engineering Officer Jerry Trifle -- were working together to get weapons back online. A hull breach appeared, then another, then another. Red was flashing every... (more)

Guns of Icarus Online is on sale during the pre-order frenzy, selling at 25 percent off for the standard edition, at $15. The Collectors Edition is 24 percent off, for $25, and includes the Captain's Costume Pack and the soundtrack. A Collectors Edition four-pack is also 24 percent off, for $35. Resident Evil 6 uses two discs on Xbox 360 ... kinda

Resident Evil 6 will ship on two DVDs and one Blu-ray disc. We've all been there before. However, this time around there'll be no need to swap the discs half way through a game -- it turns out this is a particular requirement for the European version, with the second disc supporting localized content. PSP to receive price drop in Japan tomorrow

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1644 days, 21 hours, 57 minutes ago
Thursday, September 20, 2012 8:18:45 AM GMT
It's a little bit astounding how successful the PlayStation Portable has been in Japan. Nine years after release and it's still incredibly popular. In an effort to make the device even more appealing to families and children, Sony is implementing yet another price drop on the hardware. Effective tomorrow, the PSP-3000 will be available for the low, low price of 13,800 yen, while the value pack bundle (which includes a memory card and cleaning cloth) drops to 14,800 yen. (more)

Review: Kirby's Dream Collection

My love of Kirby is known far and wide. While the games themselves are incredibly simple, the sheer charm of the titular hero and his colorful world makes for endearing, unforgettable adventures. Kirby has also seen some of the most dramatic changes of any Nintendo franchise -- from the total visual overhaul in Epic Yarn to the ten-Kirby puzzling of Mass Attack, it's a series that's not afraid to be different.
