Test your Ace Combat: Assault Horizon endurance with 10 minutes of footage

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2154 days, 11 hours, 13 minutes ago
Wednesday, June 29, 2011 8:13:07 AM GMT
Namco Bandai sent out a 10-minute video of Ace Combat: Assault Horizon gameplay, which should prove to be an accurate gauge of your interest in the game, and your ability to tolerate it. If, after 10 minutes of squelchy noises, shaky camera movement and the back of an airplane, you're still totally engrossed in the video (and not suffering any effects of motion sickness), then you are prepared for Assault Horizon. Congratulations! (more)

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2154 days, 11 hours, 14 minutes ago
Wednesday, June 29, 2011 8:12:30 AM GMT
Swery65, the director of last year's Deadly Premonition, has taken to the Internet in a new blog posting asking for support for a brand new title. He says that his team at Access Games is itching to start a new project, but game design takes more than just dreams and ideas -- apparently it takes time and money as well. And since time is money, he basically just needs money. (more)

Ericsson takes LTE-Advanced next-level, notches 1Gbps downloads in testing

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2154 days, 11 hours, 17 minutes ago

Smirking as you pull down borderline-criminal speeds on your Droid Charge? Ericsson's doing you (at least) one better. The Swedish company is pushing out-of-this-stratosphere speeds to its testing van using upcoming LTE-Advanced technology; it managed to hit download speeds that exceed our paltry LTE limit by a factor of ten -- that's 1Gbps, folks. Not only is Ericsson cranking up the speed, it's also endeavoring to make the new network more efficient by offering 8x8 MIMO (Multiple-Input, Multiple-Output... (more)

Why is European broadband faster and cheaper? Blame the government

If you've stayed with friends who live in European cities, you've probably had an experience like this: You hop onto their WiFi or wired internet connection and realize it's really fast. Way faster than the one that you have at home. It might even make your own DSL or cable connection feel as sluggish as dialup. (more)

Tuesday evening Blizzard revealed that it converted the previous 10- and 14-day demos of World of Warcraft into a pseudo free-to-play MMORPG, throwing the time restrictions out the door and letting new players roam about indefinitely. The news arrives after Blizzard's CEO Mike Morhaime revealed that 600,000 subscribers jumped ship shortly after the release of Cataclysm, possibly due to the "quick consumption" of the expansion.
