And now, a launch trailer for Transformers: Dark of the Moon. There is a fight which has just begun. some new evil has arisen. You get the general idea. This is likely going to be a pretty cool game if you're into the plot established by the films, as Dark of the Moon fills in events between Revenge of the Fallen and and the new movie. (more)

Live Show: Aya got a booty in Parasite Eve II on Backlog

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2376 days, 13 hours, 54 minutes ago
Wednesday, June 15, 2011 6:57:14 AM GMT
So, we started up Parasite Eve II last night on Backlog and I think a few people were taken aback by the visual appearance of the game. I know I was a little bit surprised and I was very quick to flick on the PS3's smoothing option. The downside of this is that it makes Aya look like her mitochondria decided it was a biological imperative to give her Kim Kardashian's ass. (more)

Kojima using 'Transfarring' cloud data for all future games

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2376 days, 13 hours, 57 minutes ago
Wednesday, June 15, 2011 6:54:02 AM GMT
Hideo Kojima said during a recent Kojima Productions podcast that the cloud data sharing system he created from dragonscales, Old Snake's mustache trimmings and cardboard boxes -- "Transfarring" -- will be available for every title his studio releases in the future. That means all of its games going forward, including the Metal Gear Solid and Zone of the Enders re-releases, Metal Gear Solid Rising and the new Fox Engine game, will all presumably provide some connection between the PS3 and PS Vita. Do you remember that crazy Super Mario Bros. 3 fan remake we posted about late last year? Well, creator SKJmin has finished a sizeable update to his ambitious remake, one you'll be able to download on June 16. If you plan on doing so, we'd suggest making sure you actually own New Super Mario Bros. DS -- you know, for legal reasons. (more)

Nintendo's Iwata talks about Wii U's place in the living room

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2376 days, 13 hours, 59 minutes ago
Wednesday, June 15, 2011 6:52:28 AM GMT
Nintendo took some inspiration from the TV remote for its Wii controller, and it apparently thinks its new Wii U controller could well be the "TV remote of the future." That's just one tidbit from All Things D's sitdown with Nintendo president Satoru Iwata, who also talked more broadly about the Wii U's new role in the living room. As evidenced by E3, that will include catering to more hardcore gamers than the Wii did, but Iwata says the Wii U is also an effort to take some of the couch time back from fo... (more)

Thanks to one of our readers getting an early install, we've already dug deep into Comcast's next generation Xfinity TV DVR, but on Thursday Brian Roberts will show it off in full (along with "new broadband speeds") at the 2011 NCTA Cable Show . According to the press release the new guide that blends internet content with TV broadcasts will include customizations and sharing tied to Facebook along with hardware built by Pace around an Intel CPU -- if anyone needs a suggestion for a service to add after ... N-Control Avenger Xbox 360 attachment makes it look complicated, we go hands-on (video)

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2376 days, 14 hours ago
Wednesday, June 15, 2011 6:51:21 AM GMT
At first glance, the N-Control Avenger looks like the fevered dream of a quirky lunatic, destined for fame and failure as a legendary crapgadget. When one showed up on our doorstep, we were admittedly skeptical. Could a lever- and pulley-laden Xbox 360 controller clamshell really give us a competitive edge? Wouldn't all the extra bits and pieces only result in a cumbersome mess? Is this doodad really worth the $50 asking price? We went hands-on to find out, and boy howdy, were we surprised. (more)

Nintendo Wii U console shown off in its bright, minimalistic entirety

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2376 days, 14 hours ago
Wednesday, June 15, 2011 6:50:41 AM GMT
Nintendo hasn't been too keen on letting us mere mortals stroke the Wii U, as no amount of coins could unlock the console's cabinet at E3. Surprisingly though, Inside Games managed to get up close and personal to this white box outside its little cave, and then came home alive with a few clear shots. Mind you, there's hardly anything exciting here: we're just gazing at some air vents on the side and back, plus a few ports -- including HDMI -- on the latter. As pointed out by our brethren over at Joystiq,... (more)

Nintendo Sells Its 1 Millionth 3DS in Japan

The 3DS is expensive and with 3D technology still in its infancy, it’s only natural that people are a little wary of dropping $250 on something that may soon be considered old or out of date. Still, though 3DS sales have been slower than its predecessors, they’re creeping steadily upwards. (more)

HTC: No Gingerbread Update for Desire Users

One of the worst things about owning an Android device is waiting for the updates. Unless you’re lucky enough to be a Nexus One or Nexus S owner, you’re at the mercy of manufacturer and carrier. And then there’s the issue that with so many different handsets, your phone might not even be capable of running the latest version. (more)

This is the trailer for the Winnitron Indie Arcade Network that should have been made months ago. Sure, we've seen some really cool videos about amazing games that are playable on the cabinet and the work that director Kert Gartner has done on them has been excellent. But every time one of these promotional videos hits, I hear the same response: "Who cares about a game I'm never going to get to play?" (more)

E3: Kinect makes Max Scoville look ridiculous, giant

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2377 days, 11 hours, 33 minutes ago

If you paid attention to Microsoft's press conference at this year's E3, then it should come as no surprise that Kinect games are dominating the Xbox this year. While this may seem like good news for those of you who don't mind incorporating a little fitness into your video game routine, there is that nagging thought lying in the recesses of our brains: just how ridiculous does Kinect make us look? Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Online Edition preview: Fight in the future

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2377 days, 11 hours, 34 minutes ago

Before I get started detailing what Street Fighter 3: Third Strike Online Edition is, I should mention what it isn't: an Xbox Live Arcade exclusive. I was under that impression, and so I was a little surprised to notice that, as I spoke with Capcom's Seth Killian, we were totally playing on a PS3. According to Killian, it's definitely coming to PSN, simultaneous with the XBLA release, and always was. (more)

The Gunstringer preview: How the west was fun

The phrase "on rails" has something of a negative connotation in the video game industry. It implies that one's game design is lazy, or that it takes freedom away from the player. As developers come to grips with Kinect's controller-free technology, many of its experiences remain on rails, including several of the titles on display at E3. (more)

Hands-on with Power A's E3 lineup

In addition to our video rundown of Power A's Batarang controllers, we also managed to snag some hands-on time with the rest of the company's current lineup. The star of the show was definitely the Pro Pack Mini Plus for the Wii, the successor to Power A's previous Pro Pack Mini.
