The original, of course, was done by Sega's Smilebit team, who couldn't be brought in to handle the port on account of not existing anymore. (more)

Brainstorm: Omerta: City of Gangsters, November's Atlantic City-based prohibition-era mob simulator developed by Haemimont Games, can't use Nazis as enemies. It wouldn't be historically accurate. So, what about the KKK? And what if the KKK leader was beaten by a black dude in a flamboyant purple jacket? (more)

Beyond covering the port itself, I'll go into my thoughts on the new content, Artorias of the Abyss, which is also headed to consoles as downloadable content. (more)

Super Hexagon is a game that makes your eyeballs feel like they're being forcibly twisted against your will while still in their sockets. It is a game that makes your brain feel like it's being torn up and stitched back together by a drunken doctor in a back alley. It will even, at times, make you question whether you're enjoying the experience or it's simply the pulsating visuals sending you subliminal messages that trick you into revelry. (more)

Review: Tower Wars

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1867 days, 10 hours, 39 minutes ago
Tuesday, September 11, 2012 8:31:44 AM GMT
Tower defense games are somewhat an addiction of mine; instinctively strategic yet part determination and endurance, these titles have always delighted and frustrated the wits out of me. Lately, there’s been a surge of tower defense games -- from casual to creative, each game that comes out seems to invent or broaden some new aspect of the genre. As a result, breaking the mold of basic tower defense principles and coming out with something unique can be tricky. (more)

Amnesia sales surpass a million, dev working on new horror game

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1867 days, 10 hours, 41 minutes ago
Tuesday, September 11, 2012 8:29:26 AM GMT
Frictional Games' Amnesia: The Dark Descent has sold over a million copies over the past two years. Breaking the math down, Frictional owner Thomas Grip says sales of 1.4 million is the "optimistic figure," since he doesn't think people purchasing multiple copies should count. The game's inclusion with the Humble Indie Bundle and Potato Sack account for many sales and overlap in his estimate. (more)
