It's always strange to see a Nintendo system bundled with anything other than a first-party title, but that's exactly what UK gamers can expect for later this year in a 3DS bundle. MCV says that a retailer revealed a bundle that will contain a 3DS, Splinter Cell 3D and upcoming game Driver Renegade. We know that the bundle will come in both blue and black, and will be released on October 1st, but there's no word on pricing yet. (more)

The all-seeing eye of the internet happened to catch the above image of Mass Effect 3 box art for the Xbox 360 from Electronic Arts' online store. The image, which shows the Kinect Sensor compatibility bar found on all games with Microsoft's motion control system as a feature, was quickly removed from its page, though the original file is still on their servers as of the time of this writing. Andriasang has posted a few tidbits from the latest Famitsu, the tastiest of which may concern the Japanese localization of Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception. Like Uncharted 2 before it, Uncharted 3 will receive a full and reportedly high quality Japanese localization. Of much more importance, however, is the game's Japanese title. (more)

Russian blogger Eldar Murtazin recently reported that Microsoft was in talks with Nokia regarding an acquisition of the latter's phone division. Nokia's been floundering in the smartphone space and recently revealed plans to make Windows Phone 7 its primary smartphone OS. Throw in the fact that Stephen Elop, a former Microsoft employee, recently took over as CEO of Nokia and an acquisition doesn't seem to unlikely. Still, despite this, the Finnish company quickly moved to dispel gossip started by Murtazi... (more)

Ever since Johnny Chung Lee was snatched up by Microsoft's Project Natal team to work on Kinect, we've been curious to see how his Wii head-tracking skills would come to fruition on the device. This week, an Inside Xbox episode shows us how it will work with Forza 4, and the Kinect enabled head-tracking appears to run fairly smoothly compared to others we've seen (just try getting similar results on Gran Turismo 5 with a PlayStation Eye). There's no word about other titles planning to make use of this ne... (more)

Necro-Review: Metro 2033

Metro 2033 was released on March 16, 2010. As I write this, it is May 30, 2011. You might be asking yourself why there's a review for Metro 2033 over a year after its launch. Well, Destructoid never officially reviewed Metro 2033. I had multiple problems getting several copies to work on both Xbox 360 and PC, while Anthony Burch decided to write a not-review after making it to the third chapter and refusing to indulge it any further. The Secret World dev diary talks story and mission types

Funcom's upcoming MMO The Secret World has always come across to me as a sort of Vampire: The Masquerade type of world except for, you know, vampires. After watching this dev diary, I still don't really know what to expect from the game. But then again, this is from the guys that gave us the amazing The Longest Journey, the disappointing Dreamfall, and the soon to be free-to-play Age of Conan. If anything, they are not short of a history with large and creative game worlds. And that monster at the end... (more)
