posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2414 days, 18 hours, 57 minutes ago
Monday, October 18, 2010 7:17:00 AM GMT
Owners of the latest Nvidia graphics cards know that Fermi is pretty great at pushing pixels, but GPUs these days have some fairly strong industrial purposes too. At the GPU Technology Conference last month, an Nvidia Fermi-based IBM server expansion blade was on display. It hasn't yet been formally announced, but it appears to be a single Fermi GPU (perhaps of Quadro variety) with 6GB of RAM that'll fit into a BladeCenter chassis of the E, H, and S varieties. (more)

Assassin's Creed Brotherhood trophies spoil mission locations

It appears the trophy (and presumably Achievement) list for Assassin's Creed Brotherhood has made its way online. Frustratingly for Platinum hunters, it appears Brotherhood will require you to collect all the flags and all the feathers in the game in order to unlock the elusive trophy. Drat! In addition, there are new multiplayer trophies for the new online portion of the game. (more)

OnLive's official blog announced that you can now play games on the service from overseas -- mostly. While the company "has data centers throughout the world in various stages of tests," there no guarantee that logging in to the US servers from overseas will provide you with a solid experience. Basically, if you want to play OnLive while abroad, "give it a try," and hope it works. (more)

iPhone 4 Glass Breaking 82% More Than on 3GS

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2418 days, 19 hours, 26 minutes ago
Thursday, October 14, 2010 6:47:41 AM GMT
The iPhone 4 has 100 percent more glass than the iPhone 3GS (or the 3G or the original EDGE model), so it would only make sense that it's twice as likely that the latest version to suffer from cracked glass. As it turns out, yes, the iPhone 4 is significantly more prone to glass fragility issues. Third-party service provider SquareTrade analyzed iPhone accidents for over 20,000 iPhone 4's covered by the company and found an 82 percent increase in reported broken screens compared to the iPhone 3GS. Specs released for Advent Vega, the £249 Android Tegra tablet, 'read like a wish list'

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2418 days, 19 hours, 41 minutes ago
Thursday, October 14, 2010 6:33:20 AM GMT
It's been a long, long time since the Tegra-powered Vega tablet came to be officially, and things have changed considerably since then. The biggest modification is the size, down to 10-inches from 15, though the 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra chipset is still in there with its 1080p abilities in tow. Alas, a 1024 x 600 resolution on the capacitive touchscreen puts something of a damper on that, but HDMI output means it'll tickle the pixels nicely on your HDTV. (more)
