Time Crisis: Razing Storm trailer shoots up your browser

Friday, June 25, 2010 7:38:31 AM GMT
During Sony's E3 keynote, a new Time Crisis game was revealed in Time Crisis: Razing Storm. As you can see in the trailer past the break, Razing Storm features a lot of the same stuff you've come to expect from the franchise: you shoot dudes and you shoot furniture. Frankly, we think there are better ways to evict tenants and remodel homes, but maybe that's just us. (more)

Whether you were lucky enough to score an early delivery, blazed through a pre-order reservation line, or camped out all night, you're going to want to take full advantage of your hard-won new iPhone 4 once you get it home. As we said in our review, the core experience of using an iPhone hasn't changed too dramatically with iOS 4 and the new hardware -- it's instead been refined and extended with some new capabilities. That means you'll need to poke around a little and download some updated apps to reall... (more)

Friday, June 25, 2010 7:26:06 AM GMT
If the title of this post isn't enough to entice you, we don't know what else to say. We've gone and run some sunlit comparisons between Apple's brand spanking new phone's Retina Display and Samsung's equally fresh and exclusive Super AMOLED panel on the Galaxy S. We don't know if we'll be able to settle the argument, but we're certainly going to subject both superphones to an expansive visual inspection. Follow us after the break for video exploration of this most pressing topic. (more)

Apple responds to iPhone 4 reception issues: you're holding the phone the wrong way

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2610 days, 35 minutes ago
Friday, June 25, 2010 7:17:55 AM GMT
So, we just spoke with Apple and got the straight dirt on the reception issues that have been plaguing users today... and it's a little surprising. In essence, Apple cops to the fact there are reception issues with the new iPhone -- namely, that if you cover the bottom-left corner of the phone and bridge the gap between the notch there with your naked flesh, you could see some signal degradation. Yes, you read that right: it's not a software or production issue, simply a matter of the physical location o... (more)

Sony explains PlayStation Plus: here's what your $50 annually buys

Friday, June 25, 2010 7:15:08 AM GMT
With less than a week before PlayStation Network's premium subscription plan launches, many gamers still haven't the foggiest idea what it does -- which isn't terribly promising for a service that costs $50 a year, or even $18 for three months. Thankfully, the official PlayStation.Blog has stepped forward to clear up that noise, explaining more concretely what comes with PlayStation Plus. While you'll still get online network play for free -- assuming you've accepted Sophie's Sony's Choice -- if you choo... (more)

Want the Kinect motion-sensing control but you're just not a fan of the Xbox 360? Here's a bit of good news: the company behind the technology used in Microsoft's upcoming peripheral--PrimeSense--has already signed deals to provide its technology inside Home Theater PCs slated to hit the market by the end of the year. But don't expect the actual Kinect device and its library of games ported to the PC--this will be an all-new, pre-installed system. (more)

Apple this week announced that it has sold three million iPads since the device first launched. However, it seems there are a few iPads unaccounted for as thieves are targeting one New York Apple store and stealing the tablets right off the delivery truck. Things have gotten so bad that even store employees aren't allowed to know delivery times anymore. (more)

Power A's PS3 accessories look good, nuff said

Along with their Wii accessories, Power A also showed me what they got cooking for the PS3. Out of everything they showed me during E3, I liked the Power A Pro Elite Wireless Controller the most. The control features rumble, SIXAXIS and textured grips that feel good in the hands. The entire thing feels a hell of a lot better than the standard controller especially in terms of the trigger buttons. The wireless version will go for $49.99 while the wired controller will be go for just $20. Cheap, but at the... (more)

Following yesterday's last-minute delay of the new downloadable "Onslaught" mode for Battlefield: Bad Company 2 on Xbox 360, we have an update on the situation direct from DICE. While the developer doesn't seem to be particularly interested in saying what went wrong, the team is happy to announce that the add-on content will be beamed to Xbox LIVE Marketplace tomorrow. This co-op mode costs $10, in case you don't feel like following the link above. (more)

While at E3, I got to get my hands on Codemasters' Bodycount, the new game headed up by Black developer Stuart Black. Promising a "pure" shooter experience where it's all about the guns, Bodycount sounds like a good deal for guys who just want to kill stuff. I certainly like where it's going. When I previewed Fist of the North Star: Ken's Rage at E3, I noted that the game used Japanese voiceovers with English subtitles. I aimed to find out if Japanese voices would be an option in the North American release of the game, but it seems the answer is already with us. Japanophiles will be thrilled to note that the option will indeed be available! (more)

Street Fighter IV for iPhone gets Cammy and Zangief

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2611 days ago
Thursday, June 24, 2010 7:53:07 AM GMT
In the process of activating and restoring my new iPhone this afternoon, I noticed that Street Fighter IV was downloading a rather large update. A couple minutes later, PR hit my inbox and I understood why. As of this afternoon, Zangief and Cammy have been added to the iPhone Street Fighter as free DLC. All their moves from the console games are intact (although I struggle doing Cammy's Hooligan Throw and Geif's Pile Driver with the touch controls), and their character models look just as good as the or... The latest Famitsu has an interview with Square Enix producer Tetsuya Nomura about Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded, the game originally leaked by a voice actor and then officially announced at E3 last week. The title is indeed a remake of the mobile phone game from Japan -- Square Enix found that none of the phones required to play the game were sold in North America, so it decided to bring it to the Nintendo DS instead. The hardware will bring 3D models into some parts of the game, and the battle system will be... (more)

Nintendo's Fils-Aime promises 'commitment' to improve online experience

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2611 days, 5 minutes ago
Thursday, June 24, 2010 7:47:52 AM GMT
Nintendo enjoys breaking conventions. Disruptive ideas have been part of the company's heritage, and while some innovations set industry standards -- from the D-Pad to motion controls -- other ideas seem different for the sake of being unique. Case in point: Nintendo's implementation of online in both the Wii and DS. In an interview with IndustryGamers, Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime admitted that the company has shortcomings in that arena. "The online ... or let me state it more broadly,...
