The concept of a multiplayer-focused Castlevania game proved to be difficult for a lot of you to accept when rumors of Castlevania: Harmony of Despair started circulating. But, if the OFLC's recent listing for the game is any indication -- it totally is -- then we have ourselves a very real game. (more)

Ubisoft to show new Driver title at E3

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2614 days, 13 hours, 45 minutes ago
Friday, May 28, 2010 8:55:13 AM GMT
So, this is a little bit weird. Ubisoft is working on a new game in the Driver series, which is as much of a surprise to me as it probably is to you. But rather than make a lot of pomp and circumstance around it at their E3 press conference (presented by Joel McHale, seriously), they make mention of it in a press release announcing some of the titles we'll be able to see at their booth. Huh? (more)

It will likely come as no surprise that Square Enix recently published a press release announcing an English localization for Final Fantasy: The 4 Heroes of Light. You've used your Wii Balance Board to exercise, ski, hula hoop and snowboard. Soon, you'll have the opportunity to use the peripheral in the manner God intended: To do the Hand Jive Hop. According to a press release from publisher 505 Games, Grease: The Game will allow two teams of four players to fight for "musical domination" using two USB microphones and the Balance Board. Oh, man. We've got chills, and we'll be entirely damned if they're not multiplying. (more)

If you have a pet, chances are your vet has talked to you about microchipping. For a nominal fee, the vet will implant a small chip, about the size of a grain of rice, into the skin on the back of the cat or dog's neck. Each RFID chip carries a unique serial number and if the animal gets lost, a vet, pound or animal shelter can scan it and find out the name and phone number of the person attached to that serial number. It's a great idea but the technology has come a long way in the last few years. So muc... (more)

We've been overclocking our systems for as long as we can remember. Intel hasn't always been the biggest supporter of such habits, but that changes today in a big way as the chipmaker has today made official the multiplier unlocked Intel Core i7-875K and i5-655K processors. At $342 and $216, respectively, they're attractive options for those who think running at stock speeds is just silly. (more)

Despite the language barrier, you'll be able to see the setting (a world built on the bodies of two dead giants), the battle system (action-RPG style with AI partners and player-controlled special moves called "Arts"), and a bit about equipment (that can be seen on charact... See the Super Mario Galaxy 2 orchestra live (on video)

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2614 days, 14 hours ago

For Super Mario Galaxy 2's soundtrack, Nintendo went all-out, recording the main theme with a 70-person orchestra. Footage of the assembled musicians playing the sweeping opening music has been released via the Japanese Nintendo Channel (watch it after the break), allowing us to see just how much more epic a piece of music is when you see it played by a room full of people. If you're wondering why Shigeru Miyamoto looks so bored, it's because there was no room in the orchestra for his banjo. (more)

The latest Pokemon spinoff game, Poképark Wii: Pikachu's Adventure, is being localized for Europe, according to a press release from Nintendo. As you might have surmised from the title, the game stars Pikachu and takes place in a Pokémon theme park. As Pikachu attempts to collect the shards of the "Sky Prism" that protects the park, he and new Pokémon friends take part in the park's various attractions. Hands-on: Killzone 3

Following yesterday's presentation by Guerrilla Games at a San Francisco media event, in which the developer outlined its ambitious plans for Killzone 3, I played two sections of the featured demo. Described as "extremely early" by Guerrilla and Sony staff, the segment I played, "Frozen Shores," is actually a level from later in the game's campaign. It takes place in the frigid Helgan arctic, which is home to iced-over oil rigs and, according to the mission description, an arms factory. (more)

ESRB rates Limbo for PS3 and PC

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2614 days, 14 hours, 19 minutes ago

According to the ESRB, it looks like the Xbox won't be the only platform stuck in Limbo this summer. Assuming the recent ESRB listing is accurate, Playdead's terrifying, striking platformer is also headed to the PlayStation 3 and PC. Definitely good news if true, given how much we enjoyed the game's brooding atmosphere earlier this year. (more)

Marvel vs. Capcom 3 screens are light on the curleh mustaches

Capcom has finally released some in-game shots of Marvel vs Capcom 3. The screens are missing HUD elements, but that's fine -- we just wanted to see how the game would "blur the line between 2D and 3D graphics." Frankly, we're surprised it doesn't look more like Super Street Fighter IV. And not a single curleh mustache in sight? How will the fans react? (more)
