God of War 3 has already received a $10 cut to its regular price at Amazon and GameStop, but we'd surely anger the consumer gods by not mentioning that there's another $11.75 in discounts to be had. Gamerdeals.net points out that bargain warriors who enter the following codes when buying Kratos' conclusion from GameStop will receive a further price slashing. (more)

NintendoWare Weekly: Mega Man 4, Bang Attack, Game & Watch

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2795 days, 16 hours, 40 minutes ago
Monday, April 19, 2010 5:38:35 PM GMT
The Wii's Mega Man arsenal has grown once again, adding Mega Man 4 to the collection of games that can be chosen from a menu and loaded up -- you know, like weapons on Mega Man's arm, except acquired through commerce and not robot murder. They'd be very different games if you had access to a charge card instead of a Charge Shot. (more)

With StarCraft II on the verge of release, it's no secret that fans all over the world are getting quite excited. But in Korea, the territory where the series is most popular, that excitement might be tempered by the fact that the country's Game Rating Board has given the game the equivalent of an Adults Only rating. The news comes via the Korea Times (spotted by Kotaku). According to the report, SCII will be given an 18+ rating, the highest rating given to games in that country. Earlier versions of the... (more)

You are looking at Apple's next iPhone. It was found lost in a bar in Redwood City, camouflaged to look like an iPhone 3GS. We got it. We disassembled it. It's the real thing, and here are all the details. While Apple may tinker with the final packaging and design of the final phone, it's clear that the features in this lost-and-found next-generation iPhone are drastically new and drastically different from what came before. Here's the detailed list of our findings: What's new • Front-facing video chat... (more)

Users of webOS and HTC Sense can skip ahead, you're already familiar with tight social networking integration on your handsets. Now Apple appears ready to join the social, so to speak. New evidence of low-level Facebook event and contacts integration has been revealed in iPhone OS 4 hinting at the possibility of unified Calendar and Contacts apps from Apple when the OS launches this summer on, um, this device. Web site Website Gunning for Safety says that Apple appears to have created a "separate type of... (more)

At this point, the HTC Incredible should seem like pretty familiar territory to our readers. We first caught wind of the device in a ROM leak back in December of 2009, and shortly thereafter saw lots of little snippets on the phone that made it clear it was headed our way. Of course, it's a potent combination that's been put together here -- an HTC-made, Verizon-locked device sporting a 1GHz Snapdragon CPU, 8GB of internal storage, 748MB of ROM, a microSD slot (with support for up to 32GB cards), an 8 m... One of the most bitter battles of the current console war, the multiplatform success of Final Fantasy XIII, has ended with a clear winner. The PS3 version of Final Fantasy XIII has sold almost twice as many copies as the 360 version according to the latest NPD numbers. That's pretty conclusive. Final Fantasy XIII, heralded as the very first Final Fantasy game to enjoy a simultaneous launch on home consoles, sold 828,000 PS3 copies compared to 493,000 on the Xbox 360. As you can see, the numbers weren't ... (more)

Sony has announced an initiative to bring inexpensive, smaller PSP gaming experiences to the Japanese PlayStation Store. You're probably thinking, "wow, that sounds a lot like the PSP Minis that are currently available in the U.S. and Europe!" While you're not too far off, we feel it pertinent to note that these games will be infinitely more awesome -- if their intoxicatingly brilliant titles are any indication. (more)

Study says violent gaming doesn't have a major impact on sleep -- Joystiq

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 2797 days, 15 hours, 11 minutes ago
Saturday, April 17, 2010 7:07:33 PM GMT
A team of Australian researchers recently conducted a study to determine what effect -- if any -- late-night violent gaming sessions have on a young person's sleep cycle. Two groups of teenage boys were either made to play 50 minutes of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare or watch March of the Penguins while lying in bed. The results showed that the group who played Modern Warfare took only a few minutes longer to fall asleep than those watching the movie, causing the researchers to think presleep gaming's ne... Admittedly the game was released at the tail-end of the month on March 23, but we'd still classify the sales as "decent." (more)
