The first Bit.Trip Runner had a generally "retro" look, with bonus levels that imitated the Atari 2600's Pitfall. Runner 2 has its own pixelated levels, as revealed in this latest trailer and screens. It appears that Gaijin Games has shifted its reference point a few years into the future. (more)

Friday, August 03, 2012 8:04:59 AM GMT
When Mass Effect 3 was announced as a launch window title for Wii U, players understandably wondered how Nintendo owners would be able to catch up on the story and see the effects of their choices from the previous two games. Without ME1 or 2 on the Wii U, how will they understand the impact of choice? (more)

Closed beta for Painkiller: Hell & Damnation has arrived

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1784 days, 12 hours, 28 minutes ago

So long as it stays close to the original game, more Painkiller sounds like a very good thing to me. That's why Painkiller: Hell & Damnation seems great in theory. If The Farm 51 can deliver fast-paced first-person shooting, monstrous enemy designs, and satisfying weapons -- all wrapped together nicely using the Unreal Engine 3 -- I'm in. (more)

Find out why New Little King's Story isn't on the Wii

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1784 days, 12 hours, 31 minutes ago

I loved Little King's Story on the Wii, if only for the fact that it abandoned useless waggle in favor of a streamlined, simple control system. It seems as if a lot of other people did too, but that raw excitement isn't enough to warrant a Wii sequel, as the next title is slated exclusively for the Playstation Vita. (more)

Preview: MechWarrior Online

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1784 days, 12 hours, 36 minutes ago

The MechWarrior property is an oldie. Perhaps even unrecognizable to some, as there hasn’t been a proper entry in like ten years; I know it in name and concept only, having seen box art or occasional screens. Accordingly, I was not quite prepared for what I was getting myself into with MechWarrior Online. (more)
