Thursday, July 26, 2012 8:34:47 AM GMT
Dungeons are typically optional areas in videogames where players can explore for treasures, and fight against all sorts of danger. Usually you think of titles such as Zelda, The Elder Scrolls, and any number of role-playing games when dungeons are brought up, right? So imagine my surprise when Steve Papoutsis, Executive Producer on Dead Space 3, let me go hands-on with their take on a dungeon recently. (more)

Review: Hoodwink

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1700 days, 21 hours, 42 minutes ago
Thursday, July 26, 2012 8:33:53 AM GMT
I was threatening a game. I was no longer sitting; instead, I was standing and pointing at my monitor accusingly. I sat back down, feeling just the right amount of embarrassment for shouting at an adventure game when nobody is around to see. Hoodwink is an appropriately named adventure game. It's not because of the story, which is nearly non-existent, but because it lies, deceives, and obfuscates. (more)

Despite experiencing stronger revenues in Q2 2012 than in Q2 2011, Zynga reported a $22.8 million net loss for the quarter and lowered its outlook for the rest of the year to adjust for "delays in launching new games, a faster decline in existing web games due in part to a more challenging environment on the Facebook web platform, and reduced expectations for Draw Something." However, Microsoft Studios and Iron Galaxy hope to do just that with their motion gaming take on the slingshot/tower destruction action game Wreckateer, as part of this year's Summer of Arcade.
