What's that? You say that Google finally shipped you that sweet Nexus 7, but you can't play your precious OnLive games on the Android app? Take heart, because OnLive is working to add support for its Bluetooth controller to Google's new 7-inch tablet, according to GottaBeMobile. In a rather brief statement, OnLive said quite simply: "We don't have support out for it yet, but we hope to shortly." (more)

Torchlight art found in iOS MMO; MMO dev denies theft against strong evidence

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1775 days, 18 hours, 57 minutes ago
Wednesday, July 18, 2012 7:20:09 AM GMT
Art assets from Runic Games' Torchlight franchise bear more than a passing resemblance to those used in iOS MMO Armed Heroes Online, from Chinese developer Entertainment Game Labs ("EGLS"). And Runic Games head Travis Baldree is calling foul, taking to Twitter this week to say, "So, wow - this game is releasing on the app store. They wholesale stole most of the assets from Torchlight," and linking to the EGLS game website. (more)

It's been ages since we had a good ESRB rating story, but America's guardians have delivered the goods once more. As usual, we've got a rating for an M-rated game and, as usual, it makes said game sound delightful ... in a kind of psychopathic way. So, how will Resident Evil 6 traumatize us? (more)

Limbo made its debut on Xbox Live, but Sony could have been first to get its hands on the beautiful sidescroller if only it'd kept its dick in its pants. Instead, the publisher tried to go the whole way and own the game, its need for control causing PlayDead to look elsewhere. (more)

It's surprising that there aren't more dungeon-crawling role-playing games on portable systems, given that the mindless combat and compulsive need to scour caverns for loot seems like a perfect handheld fit, a situation where one can just pick up, grind away, and put down whenever needed. (more)

Ten things to know about Defiance

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1776 days, 18 hours, 14 minutes ago

Defiance is SyFy and Trion Worlds’ venture that breaks new ground by simultaneously developing a television series and videogame within the same universe, and even sharing a few characters between the two. We were only given a sneak peek of the television series here at San Diego Comic-Con with a brief trailer, but we were able to spend a lot of time with the Trion Worlds-developed MMO, speaking with Nick Beliaff, vice president of development, and Ron Hill, senior producer, about the game. The Ratchet & Clank Collection, HD updates of the first three PS2 Ratchets, will be out via retail and PSN in North America on August 28 for $29.99. The online multiplayer in Up Your Arsenal, which is really the title of that game, is still functional in the PS3 version, meaning a lot more people will get to experience it now that it no longer requires a PS2 peripheral. Engadget reviews Samsung's Series 7 Gamer laptop

Tuesday, July 17, 2012 7:55:46 AM GMT
Samsung has taken the wraps off of its Series 7 Gamer laptop, and our compadres at Engadget have weighed in on the unit (which is pretty weighty itself at over 8 pounds). The review concludes that the Core i7 processor and Nvidia GTX 675m graphics card can chew up just about any game you throw at them. As with most gaming laptops, however, you'll probably want to keep it plugged in – the battery won't last much longer than two hours. (more)
