Starhawk and Sorcery soundtracks now available

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1745 days, 15 hours, 46 minutes ago

I guess the title says it all, but in terms of why you might care, I'm really digging the Starhawk soundtrack composed by Christopher Lennertz. It's a great combination of gritty western ambiance with traditional orchestra. Sorcery is composed by Mark Mancina, and while I haven't given it a listen, I've heard great things about it. (more)

Out of the blue, Blizzard decided to post a not-so-friendly reminder that Diablo III cheaters will be caught and banned, as the studio readies itself to purge the criminal element. That always-online requirement means they're watching you, and they know all the dirty little things you did. (more)

No multi-touch on Wii U, wouldn't 'feel right'

Nintendo beef-boy Reggie Fils-Aime has said that, very much like $99 tablets available to buy at CVS, the Wii U controller touch screen will not feature multi-touch. There shall be no pinching, swirling, or anything in between, because Nintendo has decided it wouldn't "feel" right. (more)

Metal Gear Online shuts down today

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1745 days, 15 hours, 51 minutes ago
Wednesday, June 13, 2012 8:08:59 AM GMT
Despite the fact that our time with MGO was extended beyond what was originally planned, nothing lasts forever, and the time has finally come for Konami to pull the plug. The game was admittedly one of the hardest online shooters to get into on the market, but once you got the hang of it, it was a great way to spend your afternoon -- especially if you're a Metal Gear fan. Juliet Starling's zombie slaying adventure might be coming to stores next Tuesday, but I wanted to talk to you about some other students affiliated with Grasshopper Manufacture. In June of last year the Lollipop Chainsaw developer launched their "Game Campus Festa" program, accepting pitches from teams of Japanese game development students looking to work alongside the studio to make PlayStation Vita titles. E3: Elder Scrolls Online is more MMO than Elder Scrolls

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1747 days, 16 hours, 50 minutes ago
Monday, June 11, 2012 7:10:09 AM GMT
When Zenimax Online promised that The Elder Scrolls Online would be true to the original series with the added benefit of Tamriel's lore-enriched universe, I have to admit that I was close to being fooled. The idea of a game that truly felt like an Elder Scrolls title set in a massively online world is a great idea. Seemed too good to be true, right? (more)

E3: Medal of Honor: Warfighter sure is a military FPS

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1747 days, 16 hours, 51 minutes ago

It hasn't even been five years since the advent of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and already we have games with incredibly uninspired gameplay and generic names to go with it. This isn't to say that Warfighter isn't a competent shooter, because it is. If, somehow, you're not entirely burned out on modern-day first-person shooters, then you may want to read further about Warfighter. (more)

E3: Hawken is getting its own ridiculous controller too

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1747 days, 17 hours, 24 minutes ago

I bet every original Steel Battalion fan just got goosebumps upon seeing these images of the MEK-FU controller, huh? I know I did when I saw it in person last week at the Hawken party during E3. Of course, there's a sense of dread that comes along with thinking of the original Steel Battalion controller, as that giant overpriced thing became instantly useless. (more)

The final game I checked out at E3 was the PS Vita port of Retro City Rampage, the title I was most looking forward to playing. With the copious amounts of hands-on previews and the frustration of its seemingly endless development, I have been beyond antsy. It was supposed to come out last month! (more)

Sony’s press conference did very little to sell me on their new portable hardware. Atlus, however, sold me as soon as they put a Vita in front of me that was running Persona 4 Golden. The Vita’s screen combined with the redone visuals combine for one of the tastiest RPG experiences this side of June. (more)
