posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1939 days, 2 hours, 34 minutes ago
Friday, March 30, 2012 8:12:51 AM GMT
Verizon CEO Lowell C. McAdam doesn't quite have all of those SpectrumCo AWS licenses in his pocket just yet, but if he does get them he has a decidedly old school idea of what to flood the airwaves with: TV. The Wall Street Journal quotes him saying Verizon and its new cable friends could have "the beginnings of an integrated offering" out by the holidays, so pay-TV customers could watch video on their mobile devices. Go figure -- Microsoft's Courier project lives again... as an exclusive app on Apple's iPad. FiftyThree, a company that features folks who previously worked on the aforesaid Courier initiative, has just put forth a monumental effort dubbed Paper. The app, which is available for free in the App Store, is a sophisticated sketchbook with a highly unique user interface that's seemingly designed with the budding artist in mind. Put simply, the company feels that this app is "where ideas begin," enabling users... (more)

Analyst: Blocking Used Games Will Mean Retailer Backlash

posted by Pedro CubiasPedro Cubias 1939 days, 2 hours, 48 minutes ago

We already know that publishers and developers despise the second-hand market. They claim they're losing money because these consumers aren't purchasing the pricy, mint copies. Only the retailers are generating revenue from these used games and thus are driving prices of the retail versions upwards. (more)

Review: Warriors Orochi 3

Warriors Orochi 3 is Tecmo Koei's Super Smash Bros. Considering Nintendo's pedigree as compared to Tecmo Koei's, that statement can be seen as quite laughable, but nevertheless, Warriors Orochi 3 dabbles in the kind of crossover content usually reserved for the most prestigious companies in this industry. Tokyo Jungle's animal outfits are too much

The PlayStation 3 game in which a humorously diverse population of animals has taken over a human-less Tokyo just got slightly more absurd. It's not enough that there are Pomeranians fighting lions in Tokyo Jungle; no, we need a cow dressed as a schoolgirl and a "hip hop" dog. You know -- for the stats! (more)

Rockstar has finally unleashed a trailer that shows off the multiplayer of Max Payne 3 for the first time. And yes, Max Payne 3 is going to have multiplayer. It was inevitable. But if it's anything like Red Dead Redemption's amazing multiplayer, I'm all about it. That doesn't exactly seem to be the case just yet, as there doesn't appear to be a free-roam multiplayer map. Maybe that will be announced later, who knows? (more)
